We couldn't let Fede and Massi leave for the US without wishing them good luck!! So on Saturday we met near the Agorà ice rink, and then headed for Gattico, where Anna lives.
I was with Francesca, Emanuele and Melania, Lucio and Katia in another car, and then Massi, Fede and Carlo. We arrived there around midday, and found Anna's home already decorated for the party, as Silvia and Paola were working since early morning to surprire Federica and Massimo ;) While waiting to have lunch we had a look at the tons of figure skating magazines and books in Anna's living room, couldn't help playing with her cats, and also tried to help a little bit laying the table. Each of us had brought something to eat, and in the end we had so many things that could have go on eating for days :p

It was quite windy outside, and this helped keeping the day sunny, but it also made it quite cold!!!! Then it was completely out of question to have a swim, or we could have frozen instantly touching the water ;) What a pity! But after lunch we discovered that lying down in the sun, the wind was not so strong anymore, and were also brave enough to put our feet in the swimmingpool... :p

After some time we got back inside, as it was time to go on celebrating with a cake ;) Fede and Massi were crowned queen and king of the party, posed for some pics, also with their mascotte Toponiglio, and then we gave them our present... a digital camera, so that hopefully they'll keep sharing with us a little bit of their new lifes :) It's so weird, I still haven't realized that they'll be so far for a long time, no more trips to see them practice in the summer, no more practice in Milan... :( Anyway, they seemed to like the present a lot, Massi immediately started taking pics and also soon found out how to shoot a video ;) He kept photographing everything, we created a monster :p Now they just have to figure out how to connect it to the computer!! Of course we have told them they _have to_ send us pics of their news programs (at least one of the starting and ending pose, plus a lift standing still :p) as soon as they've decided what to do!!!

We went outside in the garden again, to take a pic all together with the banner we made to wish them good luck "A regà, in bocca al topo!" "But don't forget us!"

And back inside to finally eat the cake!!

Federica and Carlo left soon after, as they had to go to Novara. We spent the rest of the afternoon in the sun, again with our feet in cooooold water ;) We chatted with Massi about their choice to go to the US, they were quite obliged to decide so as their coaches Mezzadri and Pelizzola split up. So they've chosen to train with Camerlengo, as they had worked with him for a couple of weeks just before 2004 Worlds in Dortmund, when they had just left their former coach Valter Rizzo. They liked the way they worked together back then, also considering the difficult situation. Massimo also said that they think he's the right person to develop their "artistic" side, something that they thought was a bit lacking in the last two seasons. With Pelizzola they improved their technique a lot, and this was hugely important, but there was less care in choreographies. Now they hope they'll be able to combine both techinque and interpretation. I wish them to be able to express all their artistry :)

I have to say that it was strange to say "bye", I mean, it was like if I thought I was going to meet them again in Milan soon, as I said before I haven't realized yet that they'll be really so far away...!! We'll miss them a lot for sure!!!!! GOOD LUCK GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
